Is a Personal Coach Or A Gym Membership a Good Idea?
Planning the best way to ensure that your exercises are done every day can be challenging. There are some days where you may feel like skipping it because you are too tired or lack of motivation is another great excuse. If you have an exercise routine planned for home, you may make more excuses not to do it rather than do it. The question is, is a personal coach or a gym membership a good idea? The answer is not an easy one. Let's take a look at the pros and cons of each and see how you feel at the end of the article.
Personal Coach:
a personal coach or trainer is employed by the gym to help you realize all of your weight loss goals. Sometimes, depending on the trainer and the gym, you can work out in the gym or the sessions can take place in your home. The benefit of having a personal coach come to your home is that it is guaranteed that you will go through with the planned exercise. By using a personal coach in the gym, you have more access to more equipment. On the other hand, using a personal coach can help you get started and unless you have a lot of money to spend, you may only have them for a matter of months.
Some personal coaches offer weekly and monthly rates, you want to stay away from pay per session, this could end up costing your more money than you wanted to spend. Once they are done, you still have to motivate yourself to continue to exercise. Some personal coaches take on too many clients, you have to make sure that the one you choose has the time for you and will not rush you through a work out.
Gym Memberships:
Going to the gym can be fun; there is a certain social aspect to the gym rather than spending an hour exercising alone in your home. The gyms today have such great machines like the Treadmill, Rowing Machine, Exercise Bikes and Elliptical Machines. Depending on the terms of your membership, you can really get a lot for your money. A good membership to have would be with a gym that allows you unlimited use of the gym, some gyms only allow a set number of times a month you can come.
You don't want to pay a lot per month either, call some other local gyms and check out their rates and the usage. Ask for a day pass or a visitor's pass and check out what features the gyms have to offer such as exercise classes, day care if needed and snack bar. You are trying to get the most for your money, and one more thing, check the length of the membership and see if there are any cancellations fees hidden in the contract.
Using a personal coach or having a gym membership has both good and bad points. It is up to you to decide if the good outweighs the bad and most of all if they money is right and you are getting what you paid for.
